What happens when I submit a case for a Decision in Principle?
For individual applications, a credit search will be run on each applicant. For company applications, a credit search will be run on the company and a director's search on each applicant. At this stage, these are soft searches and won't affect the applicants' credit scores.
Using the credit search results a DIP decision will be made and details on the next steps in the process will be provided by email and within the portal. The decision will be one of the following:
DIP approved - You can continue and convert the DIP to a full mortgage application.
DIP referred - Our team of experts will take a closer look and contact you with a decision.
DIP declined - You can refer to our lending policy for more information or submit another DIP.
